Nations Conventions on the Rights of the Child. By the end of the week, the participants to “Inter-action&Discovery” programme , troted out their knowledge on child rights and Romanian Culture. Under the guidance of professor Ioan Sorin Apan, from the Minivillage “Saint Andrew”, the youngsters discovered their talents. “Every child painted an icon on glass, helped by the professor Apan and other students trained by him. My children painted for the first time , and they have created very good works/pieces of art. At the opening of the exhi-bition of painting on glass, witch will be open on permanent basis, the children cutted together the red ribbon, as the symbol of the unity that they confirmed during the “Interaction&Discovery” programme.

Under the guidance of professor Apan, the children succeded to learn a traditional typical dance from Maramures County- “Dealul Mohului” – which is really challanging” declared Manuela Palamari.
Next to the learning activities on child rights and Romanian Culture, the children had a good time during the fire camp and trips in the surrondings of the Cultural Center.

On Sunday, 23 July, the children presented to their parents and relatives, what they have learned for one week from their teachers and from each other- the dances from Bran county represent an example in this sense. The conclusions on the experiences at the Cultural Center, were included by children in a Magazine that they have created. In teams of two persons, they have written articles and editorials about their experiences of study and recreation at Palamari’s Cultural Center. In about one month, the results of “Interaction& Discovery” project, will be presented in the Netherlands “We will invite local and national officials who will have the opportunity to find out what have the children achieved for one week and to get to know which are the main traditions and beauty of the Bran-Moeciu Region. On the same occasion, we will discuss about a possible cultural exchange of experiences between the cildren from the Netherlands and from Romania” declared Manuela Palamari. (M.D)

Tuesday, 18 July 2006, Transilvania Expres

MOECIU- In Drumul Carului village, a cultural center was officially open yesterday. The establishment of the cultural center was financially supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affaires, The Netherlands, through NCDO - National Committee for International Cooperation and Sustainable Development. The opening of the Cultural Center was marked by the development of the first project for youngsters from Brasov County. For one week, 13 children from Brasov and Moeciu, selected by the co-ordinator of the programme Manuela Palamari, will have the opportunity to find out more about their rights and responsibilities. Children will have the possibility to exercise their talents by learning traditional customs and to participate to interactive actions on child rights.
“This is the first programme organised at our cultural center for the children from Brasov county. In fact, the cultural center is the result of the combination of two initiatives. One was the decision of my parents, to build here a wooden church. Next to this, it was my will to present to the Dutch citizens, during my studies in the Netherlands, another positive side of Romania. A Romanian – Dutch Foundation has been established.
In the Netherlands, I have studied the international rights of the child and I have tought this subject to the Dutch children. As a consequence, I considered it would be interesting for Romanian children to learn about a topic with an universal nature. This is the reason why, we wanted to open workshops where children could learn new issues.” Declared Manuela Palamari.
Sunday, after a week of study and recreation in the

middle of the nature, children will present their creations and knowledge to their parents and relatives, who will be invited at the Cultural Center. On the same day, an artistic programme will be organised, supported by the students of the Club Minivillage “Saint Andrew”. The children participating to this programme will discover the secrets of the painting on glass, too.
Manuela Palamari, told us that in the future, “ it is desired that the Cultural Center will be open on permanent basis for turists who could go to Moeciu for learning about the traditional customs and for practicing them.
Should the “Interaction&Discovery” programme will have the anticipated success, next year, a cultural exchange between Romanian and Dutch children, will be organized.“
